Meet Nicole Grocki, MS, LMFT, LCMFT

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia. I have over 23 years experience in the mental health field.

My professional history includes experience providing therapy and therapeutic services to individuals, couples, families and groups in a variety of settings.  This includes at Georgetown University’s Faculty and Staff Assistance Program, an inpatient psychiatric hospital, a community outpatient mental health center, a county-based foster care system, public and private school systems, a group practice and currently as the founder and owner of the private practice, Maternal Wellness Services.

I have a deep compassion for all women and the challenges that can unfold during the reproductive journey, the prenatal, postpartum time and beyond. This time in a woman’s life can be met with loss, pain, trauma, grief, relationship and identity changes in addition to profound transition and adjustment.  Often what women experience is different than what was expected. This can create feelings of loneliness, confusion, sadness, anxiety and guilt.  After my own experience with two C-sections, including a traumatic birth that led to a hysterectomy, I became devoted to creating a practice specifically geared towards healing and supporting women.

I want every woman to have the opportunity to have a caring and knowledgeable mental health professional to hear her reproductive journey, feelings of stress, anxiety, depression, loss, grief, trauma, and any challenges related to prenatal, postpartum, parenthood adjustment, relationship and work changes, and identity shifts.

The therapeutic treatment is tailored to each client’s individual needs. I often implement cognitive behavioral, solution focused, mindfulness approaches and strategies, all with a grief and trauma informed lens. My perinatal expertise enhances my qualifications to support women in recovery and healing.

My approach is warm, curious and collaborative.  Our time together is safe, non-judgmental, and just for you. As you unpack your story, the recovery and healing process begins.

I look forward to hearing from you!
